Next Goal Wins

In 2001, the American Samoa soccer team suffered the worst defeat in FIFA history, losing 31-0 to Australia. Now, with the World Cup Qualifiers approaching, the team is determined to turn things around. They hire down-on-his-luck, maverick coach Thomas Rongen (Michael Fassbender), hoping he can lead them to victory.

Rongen is a tough but fair coach, and he quickly gets the team in shape. But they still have a long way to go if they want to compete with the world's best teams. Can Rongen and the American Samoa team pull off the impossible and qualify for the World Cup?

Next Goal Wins is a heartwarming and inspiring underdog comedy about the power of hope and determination. It is directed by Academy Award winner Taika Waititi (Jojo Rabbit, Thor: Ragnarok), and it stars Michael Fassbender, Elisabeth Moss, Oscar Kightley, and Uli Latukefu.
